“If we can learn how to appreciate stopping, a whole new world of driving opens up to us.” — Michele McDonald, creator of the audio guide “Awake at the Wheel: Mindful Driving.”

At each red light, pause and return to the present moment.

Take a few breaths.

Settle into the stillness.

Observe the glow of the stoplight.

Notice the movement of traffic.

From red light to red light, try being mindful of your present experience.
