In this episode of Modern Love: The Podcast, the actress Kristin Chenoweth (“Wicked,” “Glee”) reads the essay “Revenge of the Friend,” about a spinning instructor whose usually pleasant Saturday-morning class is upset by a couple of new cyclists.

You can listen using the player above, or find the episode on iTunes and Google Play Music.

The 2011 essay was written by Christi Clancy, an English professor at Beloit College whose work has been nominated twice for the Pushcart Prize.

Ms. Chenoweth’s acting career has spanned theater, film and television, and she is perhaps best known as the original Glinda the Good Witch in the Broadway musical “Wicked.” She is the recipient of a Tony Award (“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown”) and an Emmy Award (“Pushing Daisies”). You can find her on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

You can see “Modern Love Live” at the Town Hall in Manhattan on Oct. 20.
