Gail Junion-Metz
Gail has been having
a wonderful time the last seven years teaching librarians, teachers,
and kids about the Internet, World Wide Web, and information resources
available online. As an academic librarian, Gail developed Internet
workshops for faculty, staff, and students. As head of her own training
and consulting firm, Information Age Consultants, Ms. Metz instructs
public and school librarians, patrons, K-12 teachers, and students of
all ages and interests. Her goal is to make learning about the Internet
interesting, easy, and mostly importantly, fun!
In addition to
teaching Internet workshops all over the U.S. and Canada, Gail also
likes to write about the Net. She is most widely known for her column
entitled
"The
Librarian's Internet" which is featured monthly in School
Library Journal. Ms. Metz has also written four Internet books.
Ms. Metz has also had articles published in Public Libraries,
School Library Journal, The Internet Business Journal,
College and Research Libraries, Library Resources and Technical
Services, and Ohio Media Spectrum.
In addition to
teaching and publishing Gail is also an active member of the American
Library Association. She has served as editor for the Library and Information
Technology Association's (LITA) newsletter and has spoken at several
ALA, AASL, and PLA national conferences, as well as lots of statewide
conferences for librarians and teachers.
Ms. Metz holds
a Master of Arts degree in Library Science and a Bachelor of Arts degree
in Art History from the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
