Roasted Pumpkinseeds Without All the Work

Stony Brook WholeHeartedFoods in the Finger Lakes region of New York has been selling excellent pumpkin- and squash-seed oils for several years. Now they are putting the whole seeds to another use, as snack fare. Pumpkin and butternut squash seeds are brined to soften the hulls, then roasted. They come plain and seasoned with maple or chile. You could also give the seeds a whirl as toppings for fragrant homemade autumn muffins, pumpkin pies or yogurt: Pepitas, Maple Pepitas, Butternut Pepitas and Sweet Chili Butternut Pepitas, each $3 for three ounces or all, $14 for 16 ounces,
