Sadly it's not an uncommon situation: an elderly mom has suffered a devastating stroke that has left her incapable of staying in her home on her own. Maybe it is a man who has unexpectedly passed away, suddenly leaving the care of his wife in the hands of their two grown children. Maybe the health of both dad and mom has merely worsened to the point that they cannot effectively manage by themselves. Even aside from the significant financial burden of an elder care facility or in home elder care there is the question of quality of life for the elderly patients who may not wish to relocate or permit people they don't know into their day-to-day lives.
