The History Of The Word Marijuana

The term "marijuana" became popular in the 1930's. Prior to this decade, most commonly the words used were either hemp or cannabis. The word "marijuana" was a Mexican slang term with the origin in the word maraguanquo. This word means "intoxicating" plant. As Mexicans immigrated into the states with cannabis, the term started to get popular and at the time was spelled "marihuana".

An Overview Of Growing Medical Marijuana

Patients that have a valid medical marijuana ID may grow their own marijuana to utilize for their debilitating condition. Sixteen states have legalized medical marijuana - each one has varying allowable amounts.
